With the inspiration of similar works that showcase repeated words gradually deforming over each repetition, ‘JADED’ showcases an organic side of typographical design. From the straight edges of the first edition of the word to the third edition’s psychedelic nature, the outcome was well suited as a t-shirt design.

The word ‘jaded’ can generally be defined as the excessive use of something that results in the user losing interest and/or becoming fatigued. For many people, the constant stream of information both at work and online can be a bit much at times. For some, it can leave them feeling jaded from life itself. To be unable to enjoy life is not something new in today’s society. While mental health is a prevalent issue, there is often a stigma against those suffering with a mental illness. This lack of understanding is usually viewed as daunting, however, I wanted it to be viewed as something empowering.
Ultimately, the jaded design is intended to provide personal meaning with fluid intentions in order to allow the user to define its meaning themselves.
